“Come,” says my heart, “seek his face”; your face, Lord, do I seek! (Psalm 27:8)

Prayers, novenas, and litanies: these devotions renew our love as we journey through the Christian life. In addition to our Eucharistic Devotions, our love for Our Lady, and our devotions to St. Dominic and St. Cecilia, the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia have other devotions that mark our religious life. The Passion of Our Lord, a particularly Dominican devotion, is often depicted in Dominican art and is a focus of the preaching of many Dominican saints. Our community claims a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As patron of our community, St. Joseph has acted as a faithful intercessor since the earliest days of the Congregation. Each year, a community novena to St. Joseph invokes his intercession and renews our devotion to this saint. Having preached to the apostles on Easter morning the truth of the resurrection, St. Mary Magdalene is loved by Dominicans who have taken her as a patroness of the Order. Finally, Dominicans have always been known for their ongoing prayers for our deceased brothers and sisters of the Order, as well as deceased relatives, friends, and benefactors.
