Reflections
from the Sisters: January
16, 2008
This
evening Sr. Mary Rachel spoke on “Sacraments: Encounters with the Living
God” to the Adult Faith Formation group at Saint Joseph’s Maronite Parish
in Croyden. Sister’s talk was well-received by the young people who
welcomed an opportunity to deepen their appreciation of the healing
presence of Christ, especially in the ongoing reception of the Eucharist
and Reconciliation. The parishioners were also eager to discuss World
Youth Day in informal discussions after the talk. They have been preparing
by regular Adoration, speakers, and prayers, as well as by taking active
roles in hosting the Cross and Icon, auditioning for the Stations of the
Cross, and offering their homes for the Homestay Program for pilgrims.
The zeal of the parish in preparing for World Youth Day testifies to the
Spirit already at work and promises a grace-filled future.
