GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

 ANNUAL FUND

You may assist the sisters in furthering their Dominican life and mission by your support of the Congregation’s Annual Fund. Gifts to the annual fund go towards daily living expenses as well as larger areas of need, including education and formation and maintaining the Motherhouse.

 PLANNED GIVING

Gift planning through vehicles such as wills, trusts and insurance policies gives you an opportunity to provide future support for the Dominican Sisters as well as opportunities for short and long term tax benefits. We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor, accountant or attorney about structuring your charitable giving in a way that best meets your philanthropic and financial goals.

 MEMORIALS AND HONORARIUMS

Gifts to the Dominican Sisters may be made in memory or in honor of someone. When making a gift of this type please include a note with the following information:

Name of the deceased person or person you are honoring.

Name of the person to whom notice of this gift should be sent with their address, city, state and zip.

A memorial card is sent to the surviving family mentioning the name and address of the donor, but not the amount of the gift.

An honorarium card is sent to the person being honored mentioning the occasion, name and address of the donor, but not the amount of the gift.

Stock:	A donor can reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes through a gift of appreciated securities. Please mail or fax (615) 259-0176 a Letter of Intent and include your name, address, and phone number.  If you have any questions, please call Sister Mary Catherine at (615) 251-0053.  The following information is necessary to transfer the securities and needs to be provided to your broker:

Pledges:
	Contributions of $250 or more may be pledged over a 12 month period. If your gift is for the Annual Fund and you would like to complete payments within the fiscal year, please note that the Dominican Sisters operate on a July 1-June 30 fiscal year. If you are making a gift for a special project or endowed fund, gifts may be pledged over longer periods of time. Typically, pledges of these types are encouraged to be completed within five years.
PLANNED GIVING
Gifts through wills, estates plans, IRA or retirement funds, personal or real property or charitable trusts greatly assist the Dominican Sisters with building endowment which will provide for future needs.
