Refectory

Following monastic tradition, our refectory is a place of prayer where both body and soul are fed. At most meals the sisters are read to from a book, or they listen to a talk on tape. On special feast days, Sunday’s main meal, and holidays the sisters talk during their meal as a way of celebrating.

The tables are arranged in a monastic horseshoe with the Mother General and her Council at the upper end of the tables.
