Cardinal Hickey Academy
Founded 1997
Archdiocese of Washington, D.C.

For twenty years the Church of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. benefited from the spiritual leadership and pastoral care of its fourth Archbishop, His Eminence James Cardinal Hickey.  When Monsignor Paul Dudziak, the founding pastor of the Covenant Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and his parishioners opened the parish school they decided to name it for the Cardinal with the intention of honoring him in his lifetime with a living legacy, a tribute to his years of dedicated service.

The sisters’ convent in North Beach, Maryland, is a renovated house named after Saint Anthony, patron of their host parish.  Within a half block of the Chesapeake Bay the sisters enjoy the majesty and beauty of their surroundings and the joy which accompanies a project initiated and sustained by the Holy Spirit.
