Saint Thomas
Aquinas Regional School in Woodbridge, Virginia was the direct result of the
prayers and persistent efforts of a committed group of parents who wanted
their children to have the benefit of a Catholic education. The Diocese of
Arlington responded to their request in 1977 by establishing a regional
school to serve area parishes.Aquinas derives its unique identity among
our missions from its proximity to our nation's capital and the resulting
diverse ethnic population. Aquinas is diverse in another way as well: as a
regional school serving three parishes. This regional identity makes the
school a part of each parish, while retaining its own distinctive
character.
For a school of 500 students just outside of the Washington Beltway,
Aquinas is a regional Catholic grade PreK-8 school with children from all
backgro unds, focused on their original purpose of formation in the faith
as well as academic pursuits. The clergy of Our Lady of Angels Parish
maintain a priestly presence in the school, visiting and teaching in the
classrooms weekly. Parent support of programs and facility expansion
continues as Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional School grows in depth and a lively commitment to
truth in love.
